The elaboration of a program of intervention for community rehabilitation of the mentally­ill patient of long evolution is presented. Important theoretical elements on rehabilitation as a learning and relearning process are mentioned. We present part of a design assessment of a program by an expert sample whose evaluation is taking into account for selecting objectives, contents and activities to be included. It is based also on a community study where it will be applied and the analysis of the health situation in the said territory. It is applied in "Ignacio Agamonte" health area of Camagüey municipality. It focuses on social abilities and the occupational activity. It concludes with the elaboration of the program and its content system and with results in social and occupational integration variables of the mentally­ill. Its generalization is recommended.
