REGUERO MUNOZ, José Luis; GONZALEZ MOYA, Israel  and  CAMACHO ALVAREZ, Nelson. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Report of 1100 operated patients. AMC [online]. 1999, vol.3, n.2. ISSN 1025-0255.

The results of 1100 operated patients through laparoscopic cholecystectomy during the period from july, 1996 to february, 1998 at Manuel Ascunce Domenech Provincial Teaching Hospital of Camagüey are presented The 84, 2% of the operated corresponded to the femenine sex. 80, 3% was found among 20 and 60 yearsold. Arterial hypertension was the associated disease with higher frequency. The 98, 4% of patients were discharged before 24 hours of postoperatory. The conversion to open surgery was performed in 0, 4% of the operated. Complications occured in 0, 9% and there was not mortality in our case study. We agree with other authors in the adventages that this minimally invasive method offers to the operatory treatment of the vesicular lithiasis.
