Abstract

PEDROSA AMADO, Andrés. Chain reaction of Polymerase. AMC [online]. 1999, vol.3, n.2. ISSN 1025-0255.

The chain reaction of polymerase is a new technique which allows the in vitro synthesis of million of copies of one specific segment of DNA. Its high specificity and sensitivity have made of this simple but ingenious methodology a tool that has improved the analysis and handling of the genetic material. At present, the emergence of scientific works has increased? they refer to the use of this technique, that's why this review is made with the objective of informing the reader about the principles of this procedure, laboratory requirements for its use, its possible applications and its adventages. For this, 46 bibliographic citations were reviewed. A powerful research tool has been created, its use in different fields of the scientific knowledge places the chain reaction of polymerase as the main factor that explains the current development reached in the analysis and handling of the genetic material in animals and plants.
