Abstract

A bibliographic review is carried out with the aim of deepening in the Knowledge of dissection as an anatomic study method. Dissection emerged with Anatomy and precedes it in constitution as a science, contributing in a great extent to its posterior developtment. It has been used since ancient times,isolated first , systematic after and with researching and teaching purposes. Renaissance was the epoch for its.improvement and generalization. Even in the XX century it remains updated and irreplaceable as method of anatomic study. In the XVIII century, disecction appears in America, and its practice began in Cuba departing from the XVIII century with the relevance of determining the title of bachelor in Medicine.
