Aspirin is a drug very common in our times with a good tolerance by the human body? wide range of safety and easy handling by the assitence doctor. Its clasic indications, such as analgesic, antinflamatory and antipyretic are reviewed , were it is effective and in its recent indications such as: ischemic cardiopathy, headache, diabetes mellitus, cerebrovascular disease, altzeimer's disease, it peripheric - vascular disease, and cardiac valvular disease, it has been proved its high effectiveness . In pregnancy it is beneficial preventing preeclampsia in low doses, besides the reduction of RIUG preterm labors. New indications have been made of this drug in the color? and breast, cancers, obesity, pulmonary thromoembolism? hemodialysis and AIDS , in some of them their effectiveneses, dosis and treatment time are being investigated. The acetylsalylic acid (ASA) has kept for more than 100 years in the market almost without modifications, so we can state that aspirin used rationally may be a marvellous drug.
