A qualitative research was performed, using the Focal Groups Technique in the Haelth Area of Previsora of Camagüey Municipality, with the aim of knowing criterio of senescents as to depression in the elder stage. Two types of focal groups are used, one, of senescents suppsedly healthy, and other, of senescents with diagnostic of depression non phychotic, forming eigth groups each one with eigth members. A semiestructured debate was done using as method the open questions, non ­directive in these groups. The elder of 60 years of more, recognize physical, and psychological changes? the sadness as the most characteristic expression of depression in these ages accompained by feelings of loneliness and anguish manifestations. The death of relatives, friends, problems of health, with privacy of individual life satisfactions accompany depression. It is recommended to combat depression not being alone, using your free time in different activities and preventing diseases. It is considered that generational conflicts exist.
