A descriptive, cross-sectional, observational was performed for charactering the infestation for hepatic fasciola in 25 patients admitted in Manuel Ascunce Domenech procincial Hospital during the period from January to May 1999 coming from Esmeralda municipality, Camagüey. A questionary was performed, its data wer codified manually and processed is an IBM compatible microcomputer, using the statistec program package MICROSTAT. The most affected patients were 51-60 years old (7 for 28%). The most frequent symptoms were asthemia and abdominal pain in upper hemiabdomen with 84% and 80% respectyvely, while fever was the main sign (88%). The 48% of cases was admitted with the initial diagnosis of Long fever Syndrom with eosinophilia. It presented in 25 patients (100%), while the parasitologic exam of, inmunodiagnosis, and accelerated sedimentation had a prevalence higher than 90%. The 100% of cases were dischaerged alive and only a fifth part had complications.
