Abstract

A study of 1 344 children coming from day-care centres was performed in Camagüey municipality for knowing the frequency of Enterobiosis vermicularis in them. The work was carried out in the Parasitology Deparment of the CPHEM in two stages; the first one from March to April 1997 with 706 children using the technique of th adhesive band in the perianal region (Granham ) and second one from January to March 1998 with 638 children using the technique of and rasping . The diagnosis of this germ was superiror by Graham's technique (26, 5%) than for the anal rasping (13%). Lidia Doce, América Latina and Jardín de Travessuras were the institution with higher percentages of this parasitosis for both techniques. Fifth, Sixth, and fourth years of life obtained the higher percentages of parasitosis.
