Abstract

A study is performed with aim of determining if chemical substances that integrate avocado have healing effects according to Aymará community before the America conquist by the Spaniards 150 rats were used, divided in three groups coming from the farm of "Carlos Juan Finlay "Medical University. After antisepsis procedures, they were provoked a burn which covered 20% of the body surface in the dorsal zones Lesions provoked were classified as dermis burns as to the hsitologic study performed . The creams were prepared by an independent group, classified as I, II, III. They were 1% lead Sulfadiazine, 1 % Lead Sulfadiazine with Epidermic Growing factor and a hydrophilous cream which contained the active principles of avocado. The group involved in the healing and evolution of these rats didn't know which substance each product had, so they know it at the end of the study . From the point of the evolution , the coloration of the lesion was determined at 24 and 48 hours, the time the first clinical signsof healing appeased and the time when it was finisshed. At this moment a new hsitologic study was performed for showing that healing was achieved. A group rats kept alive tell 6 months and 1 year after healing for studying if any macro or microscopic anormality was present in them. Results show that healing is obtained firts with avocado, secondly with the epidermic growing factor and finally with 1% Lead Sulfadiazine.
