A descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out in "Tula Aguilera" Teaching Polyclinic in Camaguey municipality for evaluating the quality of education and sex counseling in adolescents during 1999. The sample was composed of 128 adolescents belonging to the health clinics of the Basic Group of Work I. They were applied a survey which allowed the evaluation of the study variables; data obtained were processed automatically. Knowledges about contraception and sexual transmitted diseases were evaluated as regular with 64, 84 % and 48, 43 % respectively, while sexual intercourses and pregnancy were evaluated as good with 56, 25 %; orientation through communication means was manifested in 100% of the contraception; 87, 5 % received medical counseling as to sexual relations and pregnancy. Concluding, knowledges about sexual relations and pregnancy prevailed and the role of family and the school in education and sexual orientation is still insufficient.
