Abstract

PEREZ CABARCO, Nancy et al. Lipidics-protein study in donors with plasmapheresis sessions. AMC [online]. 2000, vol.4, n.4. ISSN 1025-0255.

An analytic, longitudinal, and prospective study was performed within November 1998to february 1999 in the Provincial Blood Bank of Camagüey in independent samples of 11 and 16 donors in wich different lipidic-protein parameters were investigated and among proteins of coagulation, the fibrinager, to asses the effects produced in them, after repetitive plasmapheresis. Donors belonged to the program of obtaining anti D hyperimmune plasma and were subjected to a regimen of mild plasmapheresis with and interval among sessions that ranged from 10 to 15 days. Individuals wha had more than one plasmapheresis session were included. Variables were studied: serum levels of total proteins, albumin, globulines < 1, < 2, and gamma, fibrinogen, cholesterol, performing two determinations of each variable before initiating each session of plasmapheresis at the beginning and ending of the interval ocurred among two consecutive sessions. When cheking the results of firts and second determinations mean measure and standard deviation were calculated and the hypothesis test of comparing means with a significance level alfa 0.05 was applied for evaluating if there were or not statistical difference significant among them. In the results shown in charts, it is manifestado that the intensity of plasmapheresis and the interval amomg sessions were adequate for donors to recuperate the intravascular protein deficit. However, the increasing of fraction < 2, globuline in the majority of donors revealed a deficit in the extravascular protein mass, effect that does not corresponds to the time. Few decreased values were found of <-1 and betaglobulines which were altributed to differences interindividuals in compensatory mechanisms of these proteins High values of < 2 and gammaglobulines were caused by and excessive increase of the protein synthesis olue to the fact that it was not possible to control the grade of it in the interval among sessions. It was fount that albumin, fibrinogen and cholesterol were in clear recuperation after two weeks of the plasmapheresis. The behavior of lipidic field (chorestol, triglycerides, HDL-cholesterol and LDL-choresterol) and of fibrinoger within normal limits provided a wide range of security to donors as to the athe.
