Abstract

A descriptive, retrospective study was performed in twelve patients diagnosed and treated for post surgical sepsis due to help fractures within a period fo two years . During this period, 229 surgical interventions wered carried out in the said entity 5,2% out of them had post surgical sepsis. Higher incidence of it was found in femenine patients over 71 years old. Extracapsular fractures significantly prevailed. No difference was found among elective and urgent surgery. Surgical time behave in the great majority of cases from to 45 to 60 minutes. Staphylococcus Aureus prevailed . Antibiotic therapy generally lasted therre weeks. Hsopitalization time was evaluated as well as complications which were found in 25% of cases.
