Abstract
DE CESPEDES SARDAIN, Virgilio and GARCIA VEGA, Ricardo M. Severity prognosis rate of Camaguey province in the burned child. AMC [online]. 2001, vol.5, n.5. ISSN 1025-0255.
Classification and prognosis survival of the burned patient has been a preocupation in th management and treatment of it. But if we take into account that the bruned always present a major therapeutic complexity, it would be necessary to have in mind classications that include not only the body surface burned and deepeness but also other variables so important such as age which undoubtly affects in a significant way the evolution of the burned. In this study we show a new severity prognosis classification in the burned child that covers three variables, lesion extension, deepness and age. Departing from the mortality mean expected in the Cuban Index of prognosis, it was analyzed the sliding in each age group and after a mathematic study a constant K of age was determined . For carrying out this study, we used data of 1156 burned children admitted at our service.
