Abstract

A case of patient admitted at the general surgery service of "Manuel Ascunce Domenech"provincial hospital of Camagüey, presenting wound caused by knife penetrating in lift hemithorax distant from the cardiac area and with less quantity. The patient presented pericarditis hemorrahage in the post-admission days, this was clinically, radiologically , utrasonographically and through electrocardiogram (EKG), at the very beginning, the hemorrahage was medically treated and finally it was necessary surgical treatment that consisted in pericardiotomy with partial pericardiectomy, biopsy, toilette, aspiration of 1200 cc of blood and thoracostomy by probe for the outflow of the cavity. The analysisfo clinical characteristics of the traumatic fibrinous pericarditis in relation to the case and in comparison to the reported in the consulted literature is given.
