A cross-sectional , descriptive study was performed in a study universe of 203 patients who were admitted with lung cancer diagnosis in the service of internal medicine of Manuel Ascunce D.Provincial Hospital during the quinquenium from January 1991 to december 1996, with the aim of Knowing the behavior of this entity. Data were analyzed in a microcomputer IBM through MICROSTAT program package . In this study masculine sex patients prevailed 130(64.05%) and ages from 55 to 64 years, 71 (34.97%); smokers had higher incidence 156 (76.85%); and chronic obstructive lung disease resulted in the personal pathologic antecedent most frequent 80 (40,39%). Coughing was the clinical manifestation significantly presented 159(17.51%) and epidermoid carcinoma 67(33.00%) the hsitologic type most diagnosed in patients.
