Abstract

Our aim was to to assess th degree o dificulty and the importance of the early diagnosis of the genito-urinary tuberculosis (TB) of the lower tract We selected the case of a patient with a family history of TB whe had admited to other medical institutions on several occasions with diagnosis of inflammatory neumopathies. Some years later he presented with enlargement o the epididymis and testicles and a istula in the letf hemiscrotum. He also had enlargement and tenderness of the prostate and of the spermatic cords. Sterile pyuria in acid urine was found, test were performed to rule out TB of the genitic urinary tract and they were positive.TB. urinary tract can occur in an acute way and can be confuse with more habitual germs or in a sub-acute way and can also be confused with tumors. The way in which it is presented is unusual. As there is an increase in the prevalence of TB this is diagnosis that should always be considered. Fine needie aspirations biopsy with ecographic control is useful procedure in the diagnosis.
