Abstract

MONNE RODRIGUEZ, Gloria; BASULTO, Blanca; CONDE RAMIREZ, Arturo  and  SUAREZ MONNE, Denis. Correlation among congenital malformations and infant mortality. AMC [online]. 2002, vol.6, n.6, pp.568-574. ISSN 1025-0255.

A descriptive.cross-sectional study was performed in 44 deceased patients with congenital malfomations belonging to Nuevitas municipality, Camagüey, from 1979 to 1999. The information was collected in a formulary created for this purpose, from clinical records and statistical files. Data were processed through MICORSTAT Statistic program, carreying out frequency distribution in each of the medical tables. An evaluation of the genetic diagnosis was performed in the municipality rate for congenital malfomations remains elevated. Development of the multidisciplinary genetic consultation is essential with the aim of reducing the incidence of this type o multifactorial desease.
