A phase clinical essay was carried out to provethe efectiveness of hypnotism in the treatment of the essential arterial hypertension in a sample composed of 87 patients ( study group) and 174 controls, coming from to health clinics of the Family Physician Plan of " Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz" Polyclinic Camagüey municipality, during 1999. Ten sessions of hynoptic treatment were applied to the study group, and controls contined with the conventional . Variables such as: age group , sex arterial presence before and after treatment, dosage, control, side - effects and pharmacologic treatments. Data were processed by a computer were registered sex and the age group of 44 and more prevailed Hynopsis, controlled 66,6 % of the sick; it was more effective is susceptible. Treatment controlled 31,6 % whereby the effectiveness of hypnotic treatment was shown over conventional.
