During pregnancy a group of changes occur in the mother, which should be takes into oral cavity and that is why special odontological care in the pregnant is applied. So as to contribute to the promotion of health and prevention of oral diseases of this important group, a bibliographic review about pregnancy and oral health was carried out main physiological and psychological changes that were manifested in pregnant women, as well as those related with the main oral diseases of the period, are described.
