ABSTRACT A descriptive study was carried out at Manuel Ascunce Doménech Provincial Hospital with all patients diagnosed for primary lung neoplasm within the period from 1996-2000 for knowing its epidemiology. The study universe was composed of 269 patients, the information was obtained from the medical records and was used in a survey with the following variable, sex, type of diagnosis, pathologic personal antecedents of pulmonary diseases and risk factors men older than 45 years were the most affected. The incidence of lung neoplasm shows a rising curse. The obstructive chronic pulmonary disease (OCDP) was associated with this patema (32, 12 %). Smoking (88, 46 %) and OCPD (33, 82 %) were the risk factors of higher incidence.
