PEDROSO FILIBERTO, Eduardo Antonio; OLIVA CESPEDES, Carlos  and  BERMUDES GUERRA, Odalys. Normal ergometric values for 8 to 14 ages groups. AMC [online]. 2004, vol.8, n.4, pp.15-23. ISSN 1025-0255.

The effort test is almost always the diagnosis and the prognostic wordwide useful method to assure and evaluate the adults with heart disease. The approach of this method in children is limited owing to the unknown normal values because it varies with age and gender. By having these values it is easy to evaluate the physical capacity of these children with a simple comparison between the patient’s results and the normal rate taking into account the other hemodynamic electrocardiographic changes in order to know the normal values of the ergometric test among the children Cardiopediatric Work-Group in the province of Camagüey, Cuba carried out a descriptive study to an apparently healthy population  of children arnong 8-14 years of age and gender groups of Camagüey City through the ergometric test by cycle ergometer. A 420 tests were done with these data adequately. The table which includes rate values, and standard deviation of relative change of the so-called Watt-170 by age for both sexes was confirmed.
