A descriptive study of accidents incidence for exposition to the biologic risk in different hospitals Manuel Ascunce, Amalia Simoni, Octavio de la Concepcion, Military Hospital, Marie Curie Oncologic Hospital and Hygiene and Epidemiologic Provincial Centre in Camagüey, province from Agust 2000 to Agust 2002, was carried out with the aim of determining the frequency of lesion types according to assistencial activities performed by the lesioned personnel and the biologic risk inherent to it. In this study it was determined that the laboratory technicians, cleaning auxiliaries and nurses were those highly involved. It was proved that superficial lesions as well as pricks that pass trough the subcutaneous cellular tissue and splashes were the most frequent lesion types and constituted the 38, 24 and 20 %, respectively, out of the total of cases. It was known also that blood (18 cases), body excretions (14 cases) and seccion (9cases) were the biologic materials most frequent in the accidents. Blood hypodermic medles and other sharp and cutting objects handling were the sanitary activities of risk that were related with the accidents.
