Abstract

A thirty-one-year old, white skin, female patient is presented. She was assisted in the general surgery service at Dr. Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja Clinical Surgical Military Hospital of Camagüey. Urgent Surgical treatment was performed for treating toxic megacolon in the course of an idiopathic colitis; total cholectomy with at terminal ideoproctostomy without reservoir was practiced. Postoperatory evolution was successful at short and long term. It was shown the effectiveness of the surgical technique for this complication.
