Abstract

A descriptive research of our own experience on the results of abdominal dermolipectomy was carried out in the service of aesthetic surgery at Manuel Ascunce Domenech Provincial Hospital of Camagüey, within the period from Novemeber 1999 to April 2002 . In this study, the following variables were evaluated age, diagnosis, surgical techniques, presence of complications and integral evaluation of the procedure by doctors. Its analysis allowed us to determine a prevalence of the age group of 35 to 44 years, flaccid abdomen constituted the diagnosis of the abdominal deformity prevailing in our study; the surgical tehcnique frequently performed was horizontal; the occurrence of complications was present in 18, 16 % of patients, evaluation of the procedure was good. Results were compared to those of literature consulted.
