The frequency rate was higher among males over 40, and arterial hypertension prevailed as clinical manifestations. Computerized tomography proved useful for 56, 52 % of ischemic patients and for 44, 87 % of hemorrhagic patients. Cerebral edema was both the most frequent complication and cause of death.
