Abstract

ROMERO GONZALEZ, Carmen María et al. Dental health diagnosis of children. AMC [online]. 2005, vol.9, n.3, pp.96-105. ISSN 1025-0255.

A descriptive study of health systems and services that embodied a mouth care counselling diagnosis was conducted among third, fourth and fifth grade children in 2002 to assess habits harmful to mouth health and risks involved, awareness of the need for dental care, health advancement preparation, care learning needs, and mouth care problems (causes of and preventive measures for). Clinical records were reviewed and questionnaire sheets were handed out. At it turned out, the totality of children had more than one habit harmful to mouth care; most of them do not realize the real need for mouth care and thus should learn about it.

Keywords : EPIDEMIOLOGY DESCRIPTIVE; ORAL HEALTH; DENTAL CARE FOR CHILDREN; HABITS.
