Abstract

VENTURA ALIELLO, Yanitza et al. Spousal violence against women. AMC [online]. 2005, vol.9, n.5, pp.54-60. ISSN 1025-0255.

A descriptive study was conducted to assess spousal violence against women being cared for at two family physicians offices branched as to the Tula Aguilera Clinic Municipality of Camagüey, from February to July 2003. The universe involved 125 battered women from both offices. Information gathered through a survey, was processed on computer. As turned, mistreatment occurred in the three variants; psychologic violence amounted to 100 %; lesions or harm through violence were frequent; only a small number of women sought professional care. It is concluded that violence, in any of its forms, is a healthcare problem.
