A historic description is carried out, we showed our clinical experience in the transplantation of vascular tissue. From February 1986 to February 2003 arterial allografts to 13 sick obtained from cadaver donor for encephalic death have been implanted. Operatory instructions were diverse, and grafts localization was multiple. Biologic behaviour of allografts was evaluated regularly from clinical and echographic point of view; graft thrombosis was the most frequent complication. Allografts are highly resistant to infection and arterial substitutes with perspectives of short and medium term utilization.
