A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted with group of 48 patients who were treated ay the Alcohol Abuse Severe of the Rene Vallejo provincial Psychiatric Hospital from February to May 2005 48 patients were enrolled in the sample, of the, 44 were males and 4 were females (91,7 %. Diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, a previous history of peripheral vascular disease or any duly diagnosed endocrine disease were considered to be exclusion criteria. Allen's test under photopletiomographic management with alternating compression of the radial and cubital arteries was conducted. Addiction time was between 5 and 42 year, 33 patients (69, 1 %) had abused home made alcoholic beverages, 44 patients (91,7 %) some sort for forcarm impairment, which was worse among those who abused home made alcoholic beverages. Doppler test of lower extremeties showed that 18.7 % of patients had posterior tibial artery occlusion, that 12,5 % had either combined or high occlusion, and that 29,2 % had vascular rigidity.
