Abstract

A prospective experimental study was constituted to evaluate the effectiveness of the modified Shultz relaxation technique as applied for recovery toward the final part of the physical education class. Two groups of 32 female medical students were selected. One was trained a modified Shultz relaxation while the other was taught the usual relaxation techniques. The study conducted during the second semester of the academic year 2003-2004, involved taking the pulse and measuring the respiratory frequency rate at the last part of the three that the physical education is composed of. Results showed that among student from the experimental group recovery was greater to a 28 % that of students from the control group.
