Abstract

LAZO SANCHEZ, Laura. Clinico-histopathological relationship of tumoral lesions of skin. AMC [online]. 2006, vol.10, n.4, pp.76-87. ISSN 1025-0255.

A descriptive longitudinal study was carried out to determine the relationship between clinical and histopathological diagnosis of tumoral lesions of skin The universe was composed of 300 patients who presented this type of lesion and attended to Dermatology consultation at the Military Hospital of Camagüey, from January to December 2004. The sample was completed with 100 patients that fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The primary source of data was patient's interview, his physical examination and the histological result from pathologic anatomy department, A survey was elaborated which represented the primary register of research. All patients were performed clinical diagnosis and a biopsy by elliptical excision was practiced. Data obtained were processed by computed programs. It was observed a clear prevalence in 60 years patients and over (41%), as well as in white skin (87%). The 84% of sick were farmers, fishermen and retired. The most frequent localizations (62%) were face, scalp and forearm. The evolution time that predominated was that of more than 1 year (52%). Basal cell carcinoma, actinic Keratosis and Keratoacanthoma represented the most frequent lesions (70%). In 95% of the sick, a marked clinical histopathological coincidence was proved.
