A descriptive study, of cross-sectional cohort, was performed. The prognosis usefulness of the transcranial Doppler echography in the vasospasm associated to spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage was evaluated, in hospitalized patients at the Intensive-Care Unit and the Intermediate Care Unit of the Universitarian Hospital “Manuel Ascunce Domenech” of Camagüey, from January 2005 to January 2006. General variables of the patients with that diagnosis and subjected to this procedure, were analyzed. Main objectives were the correlation of clinical, angiographic, and ultrasonographic findings. It was detected that the majority of patients developed ultrasonographic vasospasm and symptomatic and all the patients were corroborated through angiography. Totality of sick persons that suffered symptomatic vasospasm showed an increased average speed in previous days or a fast considerable increase of the basal normal average speed, therefore it was concluded that a rapid rise of  flow’s speed is a risk which has a predictable value in the apparition of the clinical manifestations of vasospasm, and the diagnosis usefulness of the transcranial Doppler has a significant value in this disease, it is also used for therapeutical purposes and helps in the evolution and prognosis of the patient.
