Abstract

RIVERO FERNANDEZ, Fidel; DEL RISCO TURINO, Carlos A.  and  CHIRINO CARRENO, Nelson. Clinico-hemodynamic characterization of diabetic foot. AMC [online]. 2006, vol.10, n.6, pp.35-46. ISSN 1025-0255.

A prospective and longitudinal study was carried out in 293 patients with a diagnosis of “Diabetic Foot”, 285 alive discharged and 8 deceased from January 2002 to December 2003. The group of 61 to 70 years was most frequent. Diabetes Mellitus type II predominated in the 78, 8 %.The arterial occlusive bilateral and leg type patterns, were observed. According to hemodynamic classification of the Angiology and Vascular surgery National Center, the most frequent groups were the occluded and non calcified occluded (35, 5 % & 25, 9 %) respectively. The aortoilíaco occlusive pattern associated with the major amputation was observed. In the multivaried analysis of diabetic foot type and previous amputation showed statistical signification of wrong prognosis. So, to predict the evolutionary state at discharge it was taken into account the antecedent of the previous amputation, its hemodynamic state and diabetic foot type.
