A descriptive cross-sectional study about repercussion of advanced maternal age in pregnancy, parturition and the newborn at Previsora Teaching Community Polyclinic of Camagüey municipality was performed, from June 1st, 2004 to May 31st, 2005. Thirty- two women out of 37 were included with advanced maternal age whose deliveries were performed on the set date, to whom were applied a designed survey for this purpose, which became in the primary register of the investigation. Data were processed, using MICROSTAT system. Women among 35-39 years predominated in a 75 %.The personal pathological antecedent most frequent was the chronic high blood pressure (85, 7 %).Typical illnesses of pregnancy most frequent were threatened preterminal parturition (73, 3 %), hypertensive disease in pregnancy (50 %) and threatened abortion (43, 3 %). It was confirmed a significant percent of gravids with gestation time lower than 37 weeks (25 %), dystoccic parturition (46, 8 %), and newborns under 2500g (21, 86 %).It was significantly found personal pathological antecedents and typical illnesses of pregnancy in the study. Health actions at the community should be increase so that advanced maternal age at gestation does not constitute a problem to gravid population.
