Abstract

A longitudinal descriptive epidemiological study was performed in 919 patients admitted at basic services with indication of radicularpulp treatment, at "Ismael Clark y Mascaró" Provincial Teaching Odontology Clinic of Camagüey, from January 2003 to December  2004, with the objective of dealing with the epidemiological aspects of the radicularpulp treatments. Age, sex, the execution of  radicularpulp treatment, the dental group affected, the clinical diagnoses, causes of injuries, the number of treatments concluded and the belonging or not to the  health area, were analyzed.  A register to group all variables was designed and  was put into consideration to every professionals of the justify. Out of the sample, 476  were  female  and 443  male; the greater quantity  were indicated in patients from 21 to 40 years, the most affected dental group was that of the incisors in a 40.2%.  The causes that more impacted were the bacterial (55.2%) with predominance of the clinical diagnosis of irreversible pulpal diseases in a 62.4%.  Most of the patients concluded the treatment and of them only 17.2% belonged to the health area  that the justify assists.
