Abstract

RODRIGUEZ BENCOMO, Dania de Jesús; GALLARDO ROCA, Leonor  and  RODRIGUEZ MARTI, Mariela. Congenital glaucoma in neonatal phase: A case report. AMC [online]. 2007, vol.11, n.1. ISSN 1025-0255.

The congenital glaucoma is a rare illness whose exact incident is difficult to determine, most cases are not declared at birth on account of the small production of aqueous humor in the first months. The cases of premature apparition have a badly prognosis, these patients have a drainage so altered that not even they can handle the scarce quantity of aqueous humor produced by the eye of the newborn. A case of congenital glaucoma diagnosed in neonatal stage whose most significant alteration resulted to be the corneal opacity, is described.

Keywords : CASE REPORT; GLAUCOMA [congenital]; CONGENITAL HEREDITARY NEONATAL DISEASES AND ABNORMALITIES.
