A cases and controls study with the objective to determine the behavior of the patients with high risk in the urgency by bronchial asthma, was carried out, who were attended in the adult emergency room at "Martin Chang Puga"  Educational General Hospital of Nuevitas during the year 2005. It were studied 65 asthmatic patients hospitalized in this year and the control by equal number of patients that were not hospitalized by this cause. Both groups it was applied them a survey that contained the selected variables. Data were computer processed. The female sex and the age group of  48 and 57 years, predominated. The four factors of high risk in the urgency by bronchial asthma were: the frequent hospitalization, distant medical urgency service, acute periods and the use of two or more spray of salbutamol monthly.
