An experimental study of community intervention was carried out that consisted on the validation of an educational text about prevention of dental caries for educators, teachers and parents. The text was applied to a total of 63 people among them 14 educators of day care center, 24 teachers of primary school and 24 parents from the doctor's office # 56 at "José Martí" Educational Hospital of the central area of Camagüey city from September 2004 to July 2005. The text was studied by the totality of the participants organized in small groups and guided by the researchers in the workplaces and parents in their homes through its Revolution Defense Committee (CDR). It was applied a survey before and after its reading, by means of that, was evaluated the acquisition of knowlwdge. It was verified that the 96.7% of the participants encreased their information level in the prevention of dental caries, what results of a great utility for the work with the children. The application of the text was evaluated of efficient therefore it constitutes another valid option for prevention dental caries in the children, according to results of the focal group.
