^les^aSe realizó un estudio de intervención en 50 niños de seis a 13 años de edad del Consultorio # 40, área de Previsora, municipio Camagüey, los cuales constituyeron el universo de estudio en el período 2003-2005. Se le realizó una entrevista a los niños y padres para conocer el nivel de información sobre la salud bucal antes de recibir acciones educativas. Se determinó el estado de los factores de riesgo a caries dental modificable antes y después de la aplicación de las acciones educativas, así como la clasificación de los niños según caries dental. Después de analizados coincidimos con la mayoría de los autores que expresan la influencia positiva de las acciones educativas en la modificación de los factores de riesgo de caries dental: higiene bucal, ph salival, dieta, enfermedad gingival y la presencia  de caries activa propiamente dicha; se logró además un cambio positivo favorable en la clasificación de los niños de alto riesgo de caries dental a bajo riesgo de caries dental.^len^aAn intervention study in 50 children from six to 13 years-old of the doctor's office # 40, at Previsora, in Camagüey municipality, was carried out, which constituted the universe of the study in the period 2003-2005; an interview to the children and parents to know the information level about the oral health before to receive the educational actions, was conducted. The state of the risk factors to modifiable dental caries before and after the application of the educational actions, was determined as well as the classification of the children according to dental caries. After been analyzed each one of them we all agree with the majority of authors that express the positive influence of  educational actions in the modification of dental caries risk factors: oral hygiene, ph salivary, diet, gingival illness and the presence of active caries, besides a favorable positive change in the classification of children of high risk to low risk dental caries, was achieved.
