Abstract

MORAS HERNANDEZ, Marco Antonio et al. Modified Phemister tecnique: an option to surgical treatment in the acromioclavicular luxations. AMC [online]. 2007, vol.11, n.6. ISSN 1025-0255.

A prospective study to demonstrate that the modified Phemister technique is an option to surgical treatment in the acromioclavicular luxations was conducted. Forty patients with this lesions who were admitted in the traumatology and orthopedics service were studied at Manuel Ascunce Domenech Universitary Provincial Hospital of Camagüey and the modified Phemister technique was used for been surgically intervene. Male sex predominated and the age between 26 and 35 years old, in the majority of patients the production mechanism was indirect. The incidence of the lesion was mildly greater in the right articulation. Frequent complications in the postoperatory were showed, as well as the associated lesions found. The treatment method in the majority of patients showed good results.
