Background: In order to solve the problem of pregnancy in adolescence is required a bigger and coordinated effort not only by adolescent themselves, but politic and religious institutions, of economy, of the educational and health model. Objective: To increase and modify the knowledge on pregnancy in a female adolescent group. Method: An educational intervention study at "Mario Herrero Toscano" Polytechnic Institute of Nuevitas municipality from September to December 2006 was performed. Of a universe of 94 adolescents between 15 and 18 years, the sample (n=30 patients) according to criteria was selected. The investigation's primary source was a survey and obtained results were processed by automated methods, statistical package Microstat was used. Results: The 46.66% of the participants experienced their pregnancy in ages between 14 and 16 years, the 73.33% already had had experience of pregnancies and previous interruptions; The evolution of knowledge of the young people before and right after educational conferences was significant, with an increase of knowledge among 23% and 76,66% in the studied variables. Conclusions: At the begining of the investigation, adolescents had little knowledge on the sexuality themes in adolescence right after intervention, a significant increase was achieved, so that was considered effective the intervention.
