GONZALEZ GUERRA, Mirna y MARTIN REYES, Odalys. Effectiveness of Oleozón in the treatments of the endogenous dyschromia. AMC [online]. 2009, vol.13, n.6. ISSN 1025-0255.
Background: the dyscromia represents aesthetic and psychological damage for patients. The deleterious effects may produce bleacher agents on the dental structure and ozone may be a great oxidizing agent. Objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of the oleozón in the treatments of the endogenous dyscromia. Method: an early, open and sequential phase II clinical trial, in the Odontology Clinic of the Military Hospital of Camagüey from July 2005 to July 2006. The sample was conformed by thirty patients carrier of endogenous dyscromia in some anterosuperior tooth. The thermocatalytic technique was used for the treatment. Results: in the clinical evolution of the color of the dyschromic tooth was evidenced in a progressive way patients increased with improvement of the color in the third and fourth visit. Statistical dependence existed between the effectiveness of the treatment and the age group from eighteen to thirty seven years when applying the Fisher test. Recent dyschromia achieved 100% of effective result. The oleozón turned out to be ineffective in the very old dyschromia. Patients that never received bleacher therapy were those that better answered to the ozone treatment. Conclusions: the oleozón was effective in young patients and with color changes up to three years of evolution and was decreased the color of the darkened teeth with significant improvements from the first sessions of work without adverse reactions in the treatment were shown.
