ARREDONDO BRUCE, Alfredo. Beta-blocking in arterial hypertension: can we reject them?. []. , 14, 2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1025-0255.
Doubts about the use of beta-blocking as election drugs in arterial hypertension exist, (apart from their obligatory indications as heart failure, and post acute myocardial infarct). An investigation based on the evidence, presented on August 14, 2007 in the "Journal of the American College of Cardiology" compared to the blocking regimens of calcic channel, and/or angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor, vs. the traditional use of beta-blocking and diuretic, and detected that the new combination not only offered big benefits against the cardiovascular events, but rather also delayed the appearance of diabetes, and diminished the appearance of cardiovascular events. For what was suggested would be inappropriate the use of beta-blocking as drugs of first line.
