Abstract

Background: many types of mesenchymal cells may differ in fibroblasts. There is a not well defined group of hyperplasia of fibroblastic cells, denominated fibromatosis that vary from the postinflammatory keloid scar until non neoplastic fibrosis, also including intermediate lesions among fibroma, fibrosarcoma that is denominated aggressive fibromatosis for lack of a more adequate term (dermoid tumors). Clinical case: the valuation of a patient had surgically intervened for five years ago was carried out in the Provincial Pediatric Hospital of Camagüey of 11 months of age, female, mixed race, to present tumoral disease of the left hemimandibula, through incision biopsy a pseudosarcomatous fibromatosis of the jaw was diagnosed to her, the procedure to follow is planned, surgical exeresis of the left hemimandibula with disarticulation. Conclusions: the clinical evolution during the whole time lapsed until present and five years of survivorship, demonstrated an accurate procedure and all the necessary resources were used. The treatment with chemotherapy and radiotherapy was during the year of evolution.
