Background: squamous cell carcinoma of renal pelvis is uncommon; it represents approximately the ten percent of all pyelic tumors. It is often associate with lithiasis or chronic renal infection. Clinical case: an incidental case of squamous cell carcinoma of renal pelvis is presented, associate to lithiasic obstructive uropathy, urinary sepsis, and weight loss. The prognosis of patients with genitourinary squamous cell carcinoma in advanced stage is poor. Conclusions: a squamous carcinoma of renal cells with local invasion, clinically unsuspected was diagnostic, which results unfavourable when evaluating the patient survival.
