Abstract

Development: a bibliographic review on the risk factors better documented and accepted by the scientific community: infection by helicobacter pylori, diet, genetic sensitivity and socioeconomic level. Besides, the ways to face this disease are analyzed, and it is emphasized in the questions and challenges that are present in the new knowledge, with the aim to go into this relevant topic in greater depth for gastroenterologists, surgeons, pathologists and doctors in general, and specifying the most original aspects as to handling, paying special attention to diagnosis and endoscopic therapeutics. Conclusions: an early diagnosis by carrying out endoscopy is the fundamental strategy to decrease the mortality by this disease.
