In occasions in spite of being a trauma of great magnitude, the lens of the eye and its capsulae are intact, as days goes by it begins an opacification, causing the cataract and reducing the visual acuity. Clinical case: a masculine, white, 56 years old patient, agricultural worker is presented, with apparent health antecedents which received a bruised trauma in the right eye and as a consequence a cataract associate to a chronic inflammatory process was originated, which caused phagocytosis of a portion of the crystalline, with the formation of posterior synechiae as well as neovascularization of the iris and crystalline. He was surgically intervened. No complications in the postoperative evolution. The visual recovery was excellent. Conclusions: final recovery in patients with traumatic cataract and phagocytic crystalline may be satisfactory.
