ALBORNOZ LOPEZ DEL CASTILLO, Carlos Manuel; CRESPO GUERRA, Mario; REVUELTA MORALES, Carlos  and  SABINO GONZALEZ, Leopoldo. Orofacial medial agenesis: a case report. AMC [online]. 2013, vol.17, n.1, pp.65-71. ISSN 1025-0255.

Background: orofacial medial agenesis or median cleft lip is an infrequent congenital malformation characterized by the partial or total absence of the filtrum, premaxilla and columella. Clinical case:  an infant with orofacial medial agenesis of the upper lip with absence of the prolabium, premaxilla and a depressed nose was presented. The infant was treated at the Pediatric Hospital Eduardo Agramonte Piña. Clinical characteristics of the disease and surgical treatment were discussed. The principles of Millard technique were used for bilateral cleft cases. Conclusions: orofacial medial agenesis is a rare malformation, there are few cases described in the national and foreign literature. Satisfactory esthetic results were obtained with the surgical technique used for the reconstruction of the lip.
