Abstract

SANCHEZ PEREZ, Yosvani; FROMETA MARTINEZ, Markel  and  CABRERA REYES, Yamisel. Perilunate fracture dislocations of the carpal: a report of three cases. AMC [online]. 2016, vol.20, n.6, pp.725-734. ISSN 1025-0255.

Background: perilunate injuries are rare entities which can be difficult to diagnose, may be occasionally missed and prognosis is often compromised because of the complexity of the lesions. Objective: to show the three cases more frequents of perilunate fracture dislocations of the carpal. Case report: the three men were between twenty and forty years old who had fracture dislocation of the carpal bone. We performed an open reduction and stabilization with percutaneous pins in two cases, treated the scaphoid fracture with screw and one patient was treated with close reduction. Conclusions: in this summary we present three examples of patients who suffered these carpal injuries with excellent outcomes.
