Resumen
CHALALA VAZQUEZ, Madeline et al. Control de calidad de la tintura homeopática de Coffea arabica L. cultivada en Cuba. Rev Cubana Plant Med [online]. 2003, vol.8, n.1. ISSN 1028-4796.
The aim of this paper was to obtain the Coffea arabica L. tincture according to the method of the French School at a titer of ethanol 65 % and to establish its quality indicators, such as organoleptic characteristics, capillary image, refraction index, relative density, pH, ethanolic titer and percentage of dry residue. The identity reactions were made to determine the presence of phenols, reducing sugars and steroids, and a tincture profile was standardized by thin layer chromatography. The quality indexes of all the batches attained were within the limits established by the pharmacopeias taken as references. A stability study was conducted to determine the time of useful life of the tincture during a year at room temperature in amber glass bottles of 30 mL and it could be demonstrated that under these conditions it kept their characteristics in an optimum way and that its microbial count was under the permissible levels during the whole experiment. These results showed that it is possible to obtain this tincture in Cuba with a quality similar to that demanded by Official Homeopathic Pharmacopeias.
